The Insight Pattern Frameworks

Over more than two decades of working with women, I noticed the same patterns emerging again and again. Different women, different stories, same underlying dynamics. These frameworks are my way of naming what I saw. They are not diagnoses. They are language for experiences that often go unnamed. Each one can stand alone, and together they form a progression: one pattern often sets the stage for the next.

Not sure where to start? The Insight Pattern Assessment helps you identify which framework is most active in your life right now.

It takes 3 minutes.

The Good Girl Contractâ„¢

The Contract is made up of the often unspoken rules you learned about who you needed to be: agreeable, helpful, don't make waves, put others first. Its five clauses are approval, self-sacrifice, conflict avoidance, emotional caretaking, and achievement. Therese aren't simply personality traits. They can be shaped by early experiences, relationships, socialization, and the expectations of the world around you. This is where we begin: noticing the rules you've been living by so you can decide which ones still belong.

Once the Contract is in place, the Pattern Loop can keep those learned rules going. Different relationship, same conflict. Different situation, familiar response. The Loop helps you see why old patterns keep repeating, even when you know they aren't working. Once you can see the pattern clearly, you can begin creating space for a different response.

The Self-Abandonment Tradeâ„¢

This explores what you may have learned to trade for safety, belonging, apporval, stability, or keeping the peace. Your voice, needs, desires, connection to your body, or parts of your identity, may have been parts of those trades. The trades often made sense in the circumstances that shaped them. Now you get to notice what they're costing you and decide what you want to reclaim.

This Cycle looks at a pattern of over-responsibility, guilt, overdoing, resentment, and exhaustion. Sometimes exhaustion isn't only about being tired. It can be connected to how much you carry, how difficult it feels to step back, and how often you push past your own limits. Seeing your cycle clearly can help you notice where you can interrupt it.

How The Patterns Fit Together

The four frameworks offer different ways of understanding patterns that can overlap and influence one another.

The Good Girl Contract explores the rules you learned. The Pattern Loop helps you notice what keeps repeating. The Self-Abandonment Trade looks at what you may have learned to put aside along the way. The Exhaustion Cycle explores what happens when carrying too much becomes a pattern of its own.

There is no single place to begin and no set order to follow. We start with what feels most familiar to you and can use the frameworks that help us understand your experience, your patterns, and what you might want to change.

Where To Go From Here

Wherever you are, there's a way to begin.
